I had the pleasure of co hosting a Galentine's party with Renee of Astonishing Cakes where we made our own flavored chocolates for Valentine's day.
Each guest received a fun goodie bag as they arrived. Inside were fun little chocolate molds from Ikea, a recipe holder, blank recipe cards, a sample of essential oil, an assortment of favor tags and a gift box with candy wrappers to place all of the chocolates we would be making.
We placed approximately a 1/2 - 3/4 cup of chocolate melts in piping bags and closed the opening with a chip clip. We then microwaved the bags at 30 second intervals until the chocolate was warm and melted. To keep all of the piping bags warm we placed them in a crock pot on warm. When we were ready to start making our chocolates we added a drop of different essential oils to each bag to flavor the chocolate and gently mixed the chocolate and oil together. We made lemon/vanilla, orange/dark chocolate, cinnamon/dark chocolate and peppermint/dark chocolate. Each was SO delicious. While the peppermint and cinnamon only needed one drop per 1/2 -3/4 cup of chocolate the lemon and orange needed 3 drops per 1/2 -3/4 cup of chocolate.
Using the piping bags we cut the tip off and filled each of the cavities of the chocolate molds, then placed them in the fridge until they were set.
Once the chocolate was cooled and set, we popped them out of the molds, placed mini candy cups in our candy box and placed a chocolate in each cup.
It was now time to decorate our boxes with pretty ribbons and favor tags.
The girls had so much fun making their own boxes of Valentine chocolates and we can't wait to do it again.
Have fun with your girlfriends and host a chocolate crafting party!
